I'm tired of all the jeers and self pity our old navy ships generate. If I had the resources or the brain power to build a warship, the BRP Mandarangan Class multi-role cruiser would be the one I'd put my money on. Acquiring a Hamilton Class cruiser is a small step to the right direction but if I had the power to pull out all the stops and come up with the ultimate weapon of defence and mass destruction this would be it. Ideally, this ship should be capable of performing all three naval warfare operations: Anti-Surface(Anti-ship), Anti Air Warfare and Anti Submarine. However, with its complement of precision guided multi-warhead missiles and drones, it can switch to tactical land warfare mode when needed. With its formidable CIWS,SSWS (sub-surface weapons suite, Aegis-Type tracking system, phased array radar and electo-optic, IR and HI(hypo-infrasonic) sensors and stealthy design, the BRP Mandarangan class does not need the anonymity and quietness usually demanded from submarines. It is capable of delivering at least 10 multiple nuclear or conventional warhead ICBMS From its retractable VLS, through ranges in excess of 20,000 Kilometers. The extended range of its ICBMS means it doesn't even have to leave port to launch its Fire-and-Forget ICBMs. With all these capabilities, the BRP Mandarangan will be a virtual one ship naval taskforce. ***********Impossible? I don't give a rat's ass. we WILL get there someday..hopefully not for TOO LONG hehehe.

Well done. This country is? in dire need of more poets and dreamers. Never let go of such dreams no matter how impossible the task may seem.
alikabok # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:24 0
Wow... a definite war god of the sea if this thing becomes real.It is somehow similar to a 007 movie stealth ship that almost? caused a war between G Britain and China. But this one is more like a lone sea warrior.Thumbs Up Pare! This is good.

I heard Austal is here in the Philippines bro, maybe? you can revise the hull design for better manueverabiity. I hope the Phil. government will support this kind of ideas!! Go Phil. Navy!!

I? will attack from behind it seems week from the back.joke...:) nice design...
sashimi1 # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:40 0
A new frigate with similar specs would cost about US$800 million (about PhP34 billion) at least. Considering the 2012 budget of the government is about PhP1.8 trillion and the allotment for the? AFP is 3% or PhP36 billion, that would be a challenge to fund. We'll need to issue 20-year "defense bonds" to finance this.
elvin # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:40 0
Nice!!!!! hope someday the? Government will build that!!!!! i am sure it will rock
inumb3rz # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:41 0

ryan # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:44 0
Nice design, pero base sa nakita ko? parang maraming blind spot ung depensa ng barko, tsaka parang masyadong complikado ung barko, siguradong mahal yan sa maintenance, BTW very nice futuristic design and BTW im designing some weapon/tanks/Warship myself at ung iba futuristic din hahahahaha
dimitri # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:45 0
We must build a navy 10x the power of the US? Navy so tomorrow, P-Noy wakes up watching Beijing BURN!!!

andressa # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:47 0
MARAMING TAYONG MAGAGALING NA FILIPINO INVENTORS PAGDATING SA ARM FORCE EQUIPMENT.. WALA NGA? LANG SILANG PONDO KAYA NAGIGING DRAWING NALANG ANG IMBENSYON NILA.. SANA ITO ANG PANSININ NG GOBYERNO HINDI IBANG ARMAS NG IBANG BANSA... PARA MAY ARMAS NAMAN? TAYO NA MAIPAGMAMALAKI SA MUNDO NA SA ATING GAWA AT MAKAKATIYAK PANG MATIBAY AT MALAKAS ITO DAHIL PILIPINO ANG GUMAWA.. SANA DUMATING ANG ARAW NA? ANG MAKABAGONG ARMAS NG AFP AY GAWANG PINOY

this is a self reliance defense posture SRDP FUTURE projectthis will not be at the present or at the near future but this can be possible at? the far futureand about the missile guided warships thingwe can acquire missile guided frigates
saintlib # 28 ноября 2012 в 21:55 0
khole666 # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:04 0
NAPAPANSIN KO? LANG SA MGA COMMENT DITO HALOS LAHAT SINASABI WALA TAYONG BUDGET PAMBILI NG MGA MISSLE SHIPS. SA OPINION KO MERON TAYONG PAMBILI EH KUNG YUNG VIETNAM NGA NA MAHIRAP NA BANSA MAY MGA SUBMARINE AT MISSLE BOAT TAYO PA KAYA NA MAS MAYAMAN SA KANILA. SIRAULO LANG TALAGA MGA PULITIKO NATEN WALANG ALAM KUNGDI PANGSARILI NILA SANA MAGISING NA TAYO WAG NA TAYO BUMOTO NG MGA WALANG ALAM NA PULITIKO

perfect design,!! i? agree with you ,,,
psychede # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:14 0
nice one, maybe our military should gather metal from individual homes nationwide just like what japan? did to make an aircraft carrier during ww2.and pay the local shipbuilders 10x worth their monthly salary/income and housing for their families and educational assistance to their children.and for the weapons, do the same to the gunmakers of danao... daydreaming

napakita mo? na ba to sa philippine navy?....
kukay102 # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:15 0
Wow! What a concept, di naman masama mangarap. Go all the way! Isang Battle Group; The cruiser as flagship, 3? aegis-type destroyers and 3 submarines. Me personally, a balance fleet of destroyers and subs, dapat may air assets din like UAVs and helicopters.. We deserve a credible and capable Navy!
wezcoast # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:15 0

Catamaran Hull will be difficult to maneuver....Easy? target for torpedo..You need to protect it with escort gunships and air escorts...
norskman # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:24 0
Dude I wanna remove that big gun? in front of the bridge. It obscures bridge visibility.
jojogij0 # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:25 0
Great idea, i hope this would not grab by others and hopefully it will came in to true building our own destroyers..its like just rising a 50 Storey building and? Filipino Engineer doing it now a days..so we can do the same, building and innovating a future battleship like what this video talk about.
ozbezari # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:25 0
i wonder if that can? take one a couplle of aegis-class cruisers

janleste # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:39 0
A very optimistic attempt to quell the filipino desire for change. But as of now,? the Philippines can't even afford to invest on 1 CIWS (Close-In Weapon System) which is defined on your model. Let's hope this would be a reality in the near future.
macgyver # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:41 0
The Philippines' biggest enemies must be fought with knowledge, not warships. But? warships are cooler.
aaron # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:41 0

pc # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:42 0
I agree that it's a bit of an overkill...Let's just say that I'm an unbridled optimist when coming up? with visions. Dreams cannot be constrained by national budgets, religious beliefs and other limitations. I leave that to that to the engineers, shipwrights, weapons technicians,? hydraulics people and bureaucrats to worry about if... and when this little suggestion ever leaves the drawing board :)
marumito # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:43 0
--- this? is a very nice concept of a battle ship for our Philippine Armed Forces.. I just hope It comes to Fruition soon! lest it's too late & the Chinese already Violated & occupied our Boundary waters!
norskman # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:44 0
what about defense against multiple missile attack? Like in the movie 'Sum of allfears'??
thecharl # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:45 0
While i applaud your creative vision and obvious understanding of what seapower can and does achieve, isnt this? overkill for the Philippines? I mean they can barely afford to operate obsolete frigates!
goolai # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:47 0
hahaha! But its okay to dream.......its just a concept waiting to happen? years and years to come or the next future hehehe.
spiritbo # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:47 0
Bro, may fb account ka ba??
mrgarnac # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:51 0
It's? pretty cool but the question is do we want quicker smaller more nimble and numerous or do we want less, larger more capable stand alone ? Because we only have so much money to spend ..... however a few of those roaming up and down the coast of anywhere would certianly add to the fleet. But when you have something like that you also need a contingent of frigates and destroyers to protect it ..... I know thats not the concept, but it's the truth
jam4life # 28 ноября 2012 в 22:56 0
Sooner or later, the Philippines will afford such of arsenal, remember we are on the "Next Eleven" list and by twenty years, we? will be included in trillion dollar countries. If India can afford to build what is a modern armed forces today, despite that they are struggling with economic sanctions during '70s and China immediately on the potential superpower list, while we are richer than them before. I know Philippines will rise, just refer to Wikipedia and see the bright side of our country,

the design is good and also the conceptyou've got a problem placing some of the weapons though, why would you place weaponry next to the landing spot of? those helis?? bad ideathe shape of the ship would slow it down but would put a higher defense towards the hull
norskman # 28 ноября 2012 в 23:06 0
If we will not take our defense seriously, one day China will build a garrison in Palawan and? say, Oh, that one? That was only temporary. Remember how the Chinese patrol boats shot at our fishermen?
duke # 28 ноября 2012 в 23:09 0

very nice but our country don't have enough fund's to build such thing this will remain in our wish. if only our government will start? producing oil in recto bank we might produce 100 of that stealth battle ship to defend our family and our mother land the Philippines. make our dream come true Pnoy and Binay...

Cont. 4.) Consider the amount of funds and resources the Philippines has, The Philippines will definitely not have any Nuclear Weapons but we can use Anti-Satellite and Anti-Ballistic Missile systems instead. For the? Philippines the best offense is defense.
calanceg # 28 ноября 2012 в 23:29 0
Not Possible but Plausible:1.) I think the warship is too top heavy, especially with those ICBM's aboard.2.) Ever heard of what happened to the Japanese Warships Yamato and Musashi. They were easily picked off by US Bombers from WWII because of? there size.3.) From the above statement even with all those CIWS aboard they can only shoot roughly 60% of the heavy rounds fired at the ship, ask yourself where did the 40% go?4.) Recommendation: Reduce the size

drsuntzu # 28 ноября 2012 в 23:38 0
the main gun in its forward deck, is that the AGS (Advanced Gun System)? the design of the hull, its from the USS Sea Shadow (IX-529) concept but on a larger scale. why only one Phalanx CIWS? I like your cruiser design.? You can also design a warship that can survived NBC attacks and Natural disasters. They must have the crucial requirements (Speed, Maneuverability, Firepower, Cost, Reliability, Protection)
pc # 28 ноября 2012 в 23:44 0
I used an Otobreda 76mm with Stealth Cupola for conventional skirmishes. I decided against setting up an AGS since I'm thinking? more along the lines of large scale ICBM/Cruise missile deployment rather than long distance guided munitions warfare. It won't hurt having an AGS though for tactical land combat support roles though. I might incorporate that on my next models for tactical land and sea combat support missions.
norskman # 28 ноября 2012 в 23:45 0
I love your concept design of BRP Mandarangan. Can you design for the Philippine Navy a very cost effective concept design based on the WWII PT-boat similar to that one commanded by late USA Pres. JFK? A modern cost effective version of the PT boat design I have in mind is this. Crew of 4-or 5. Two engines. Hull made of? marine plywood or graphite or fiberglass. Armaments; twin 50- calliber machine guns front and back. two torpedoes, port and starboard. Six Russian Brahmos surface to air.
